I finally got my Ruka figure a couple of days ago. I took advantage of that whole “35% off of Ebay Buy it Now” thing that Microsoft was doing a little while ago. Once I get the tax back, that brings the price to about $55 for me (with free shipping.) Not too bad of a deal.

One of the things I really like about this figure is that one of the support beams is made of metal. It’s nice not having to worry about it bending under the weight of the figure in the future. Other than that, there really isn’t that much to say about it. I don’t order very many figures, so I’m not adapt at looking for flaws. The paint job seems pretty consistent to me. Here’s hoping that I took enough pictures so that you can be the judges ^^

Unfortunately, just like previous years, I had no opportunity to go to Japan doing the most recent Wonder Festival. I always like looking around several forums and foreign blogs to see all of the different figures, though. That’s almost like going to the real thing, right? Right?

Yea, not really, but I get to see a lot of cool photos anyway. These are some of my favorites. I doubt I’ll pick any of them up anytime, though. I doubt I have the skills to build and paint a resin kit.

Pictures mostly shamelessly stolen from オタロードBlog

P.S. One of those figures is not like the others. One of them just does not belong. Which one is it? :3 (It’s still freakin’ cool, though)

I happened to be browsing HOBBYSTOCK today when I found this figure. The figure is made by Toy’sworks as part of its PVC Solid Works line. This cute, little figure comes in two types: Ceremony version and Noir version. It’s slated for a March 2007 release. There are four more pictures after the jump (although, only two are really unique.)

First let’s start of with some Haruhi kits.

Finally, a kit of Haruhi not in her infamous school uniform. I’d say this is probably the cutest kit of her.I’m sure we’ve all seens Bubba’s new Yuki kit, but I still wanted to post it here. It’s a really cute kit.I have one thing to say to this kit, just one thing: nyoro~n!I’d say this is the second cutest Haruhi kit I’ve seen.
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but this kit looks really petite looking. A nice companion to the next kit.Another kit of Tsuruya-san. I don’t like her face that much. Other than that, much like the kit ot the left.Ah, goth loli Nagato. One of my favourite costumes from the series. The paint job on this one looks a bit creepy…What a surprise, another bunny girl version of Mikuru. This one accentuates certain features of hers.

And now for some cute kits.

Just in time for the Holidays are two Christmas-y Plenair kits. The left one is cuter than the right one, imo.I have trouble describing this one. I don’t know whether to call it ecchi or kawaii. Perhaps it’s a bit of both.At first, the eyes really creeped me out on this one. I like the detail on the sukumizu on this one.
This might be one of the figures that I would call “too cute.” It kind of creeps me out in a way. Kawaii overload, maybe?I really like the artist who did Kino’s Journey. The eyes are so awesome. I’m glad that that art style was brought into the model. I really have to find his homepage sometime. This one might also have been from the summer, but I don’t care. This Behomi kit is too cute for words!I really like this trio of models, if it really is three different models. It almost looks as if the parts are interchangeable. I would really like this one my shelf one day…

And the rest.

Of course, since I’ve never been to Japan before, I had no way of getting these pictures on my own. It would only be right if I were to give credit where credit is due. Now here’s a post that’s been long past due. I got these things a couple of days before my new laptop, but I’ve been delaying writing this post for a while (because I’m lazy?) Anyway, over the week I’ve gotten a bit more anime related items from overseas.

Now, now. There is no need to cry for the loss of my wallet. It will all be better soon, I promise.

Being the philosopher I don’t claim to be, I can’t help but to think of the future. I can say that it looks very bleak for my wallet, especially since I’m still awaiting a certain paycheck that I had thought was coming sooner (although, it appears I miscalculated.) Nonetheless, I shall highlight some of the things I hope to acquire in the future.
