Well, after playing episode 7 and watching the preview for episode 8, I can now safely say two things: this game is getting pretty scary and I have no idea what is going on anymore. Unlike most of the other episodes, this episode is purely confined to Howard Wright’s perspective. I’m still wondering how he stays alive…. The rest of the post is full of spoilers.

The episode starts, more or less, right after Howard Wright wakes up after being lit on fire by Amana. Not to mention falling off a cliff, as well. How he survives? No one knows. Maybe he’s already a shibito. That would explain the that other time where he was shot in the chest and somehow got back up after laying in a ditch for a while.

I’m not being totally serious, though, since you’d think Saiga would have reacted after the first time meeting Wright. Not like I trust anything, anymore. The ending of episode 6 kinda threw me off. I wonder if all shibito are like Bella and view themselves as normal. They seem to be able to recognize each other at least, like that one nurse (who seemed to have a crush on Dr. Saiga when she was alive) recognizing Saiga.

Anyway, this chapter starts you out kind of nicely compared to some others. He actually starts out with his sawed-off shotgun from the last chapter. Unfortunately, this time around he only has two shots. Sneaking around on this level, at least, at the beginning is a bit harder than most since there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle…

This chapter is pretty straightforward. There’s another brain that needs to be killed in this episode. It’s different from all of the others. It’s surprisingly mobile. It actually… runs from you… around a cabin. I actually tried chasing him around for a while (at least a long enough time for some of the shibito to revive.) I eventually decided to just climb up to the roof of the cabin and just get the jump on him and kill him.

After finishing that objective, Howard Wright finds himself in this odd area with a what seems to be a giant pool of blood. Our old friend Amana is also there, doing whatever crazy thing she usually does. Wright never gets the chance to see her again, since he gets attacked again and knocked down. It almost looked like a tentacle. Before the screen fades out and you hear those horrible noises, the sound of childish laughter can be heard. I’m pretty sure he ‘died’ again…

And, of course, since Wright is somehow immortal, he wakes up. Unfortunately, he’s unarmed this time. Kinda sucks, since there seems to be a spider shibito around. The first objective, fittingly, is to find a weapon. From there, you just climb, climb, climb. And then, you see it. The giant shibito. The same one that was with Bella before, I believe. At least, the same kind. I think it may be another kind of a brain shibito and it’s… much bigger than you. I would say, almost twice your size. So yea, running away is the clearly the best option in this scenario.

And run away Wright does. Unfortunately for him, the shibito grabs a random barrel and chucks it at him while he was climbing up the ladder of the tower, causing him to fall. It’s a wonder he didn’t get seriously injured during the fall… or from getting hit by a barrel… Not that it matters, since he’s probably invincible anyway ….

It’s nice that he falls though. He finally gets to meet good ole Sam Monroe. Sam seems to be looking for Bella and Melissa. I guess they got separated at the church when Bella and that huge shibito brain showed up. Sam and Wright don’t seem to get along very well as a team, though. Actually, I don’t think they become a team at all. Make sense, since Sam is now a spider shibito and is now trying to kill him.

After running for his dear life, Howard Wright eventually finds Bella, who fortunately doesn’t attack him. Too bad for him, Melissa (who is surprisingly still human) shoots him in the back with a pistol and then precedes to hug Bella (even though Bella’s face is all… buggy.) If there’s one good thing that came from all of that hard work, it’s that the Monroe family is finally reunited again.

The really only confusing part of this episode was the preview for episode 8. I know that sounds strange, but they actually show enough in the preview to make you go ‘wtf?’. Actually, I don’t quite remember anything about that preview except for the fact that they show every one of the main characters alive. AKA, in their non-shibito forms. Saiga, Melissa, the black guy who wasn’t actually a man character but had the hots for Melissa. All of them alive. I really can’t wait until they explain that one.
