It seems as though some producer has decided that it was a great idea to create another Street Fighter movie. This one will be live-action and will star Chun-Li. Apparently, they have never seen the other live-action attempt of making a movie out of Street Fighter or they would have known that it was a very bad idea to do this. Maybe it will be one of those things that everybody will laugh at in the future (Zero Wing comes to mind.)

There’s a nice little sale at Discount Anime DVD. All books are 35% off right now. There’s seems to be a sale for yaoi and hentai titles and a Halloween sale for select anime and books, as well, but of course, I’m more interested in the slashed prices for manga. (more…)

Now here’s a post that’s been long past due. I got these things a couple of days before my new laptop, but I’ve been delaying writing this post for a while (because I’m lazy?) Anyway, over the week I’ve gotten a bit more anime related items from overseas.

Recently, I’ve picked up the demo for Medieval 2: Total War. The demo seems much the same as its predecessor. In the case of Medieval 2: Total War, it includes a battle tutorial and two historical battles, The Battle of Agincourt and the Battle of Pavia.

Here’s a nice one I found during my road trip, which started Saturday and ended on Tuesday. I don’t have much to say about this one. I doubt this artist is famous or anything. I’m not sure if he even produces any doujin since there is no works or doujin link on their site.

Since I don’t know anything about the above artist, I decided to put two artists in this post. One of the reason I really like this artist is because all of the Disgaea fanart. He has this really cute style (ie. really big eyes and soft colors for that really cute look.)

Right now, I’m nearing the end of Chapter 3. I’m quite surprised how difficult this chapter has been for me thus far. Chapter 2 was pretty easy by any standards. I was killing those dragon zombie things in one turn. It was so easy, it got kind of dull.

Yea, my computer crashed yesterday night. I was playing a bit of Half-Life 2 when suddenly my computer froze. I restarted it, but I would get an error after logging on to my computer, which is kind of strange because I would have expected the error to pop up during the booting process. Anyway, it seems as though some files in the Windows OS got corrupted somehow, so I basically reinstalled Windows, this time making sure to partition my HDD into two parts, one for the OS and one for everything else.

I’ve been keeping myself busy installing all of the drivers that came with my laptop (most importantly, the wireless driver since that’s the only way I can connect to the Internet right now.) I’s a good thing I still have the Viao, along with it, most of my precious files. I’ll have to remember to reinstall all of the Asian fonts as well, before trasnferring my files. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post something good soon…

I am tempted to write about the loot I have gotten recently, but then I remembered a post by a blogger a couple of weeks ago asking more anime bloggers to blog about games or something like that. Since I play games almost as much as I watch/read anime/manga, I thought writing this post would be a good idea. It would probably be a better idea if I weren’t at college right now and I had more time to play games.

I think I’ll start with the game I probably play the most, Civilization IV. I’m sure I won’t have to explain the game to most of you guys, given it’s apparenty popularity. I’ve had the game for a while, but it would always lag at later points of the game due to the amount of material on the map. Thankfully, my new laptop actually has a GOOD video card, so I get to play this game at 1920x1200 resolution. I must tell you this now: if you are no fan of Civilization, I wouldn’t advise you to read this post.

It seems as though the first release candidate for Firefox 2 was released without me knowing about it. It’s a good thing too, since I was unable to use Firefox 2 Beta 2 on my laptop because it was somehow more unstable on this machine the old Viao. I had it uninstall it and install Firefox 1.5 in its stead. I could really feel the difference from 2.0 and 1.5. I really missed the close things on each individual tag and the automatic spell-checker. You guys can check it out here, too.

In other news, it seems as though some hackers have revealed to the public some critical flaw in Firefox’s implementation of Javascript with enough information for other people to take advantage of the flaw. It seems as though they did this, instead of using Mozilla’s bug bounty program, for the “for the good of the Internet.” Yea, I’ll certainly believe that when my computer gets compromised because of this.
