Here’s a pretty good artist, Yusuke Shiba. I don’t know much about this one, either, but that’s okay since Akiba Angels has just posted an interview with him at their site. It’s only 19 questions, but at least it lets you get to know the artist better. I’ll quote it here.

As we introduced here, we have an exclusive interview with Yusuke Shiba. It is unbelievable that he is not a professional artist. Q1:What kind of child were you when you were small? A1: I was a quiet kid, and did not stand out. Q2: What made you decide to pursue the current career? A2: I am not yet a professional artist. I wonder if I should be answering this interview as I am now. Q3: What are the best characteristics of your drawing? A3: People say my illustrations are colorful. Q4: Which part of your image do you put the best thought into? A4: I want my work to inspire viewer’s imagination. Also, image’s whole balance is an important factor to me. Q5: Among all of your works, which one do you like the best? A5: I usually like the most recent work. I want to think that the latest work has an improvement compare to previous ones. Q6: What program and software do you use to create your works? A6: Photoshop. I bought Painter a while ago wishing to master it…but I rarely touch it. Q7: What is the ultimate art for you? A7: A simple work but touches person’s soul. Q8: Which part of the image do you start with? (Such as face line, background, etc) A8: I draw the whole rough image, but I usually start from the face. Q9: Do you have any creator or artist you admire? A9: I like Yoshitoshi Abe, Yuuji Iwahara. And many more.. Q10: Where do you get your inspirations from? (Example: from books, TV, etc) A10: I expand imagination from a word suddenly pops in my mind. Q11: Do you have a goal in terms of creating works? A11: None. Q12: What animals do you like? A12: Cat. But I can’t afford to take care of one since I am occupied with taking care of myself. Q13: What is your blood type? A13: A Q14: How do you spend your weekends? A14: Stay at home and go shopping occasionally. Q15: Do you have any sites you check everyday? A15: Game information site and creator’s site whom I like. Q16: What is your hobby other than drawing? A16: I play a lot of TV game. Other than that, I watch movie and listen to music. Q17: Do you have any project you are currently working on? A17: Not particularly. Q18: Message to creators outside of Japan A18: I will be happy if you can feel something from my work. Q18: Would you accept work offer from outside of Japan?
