The Sword that Cleanses Evil

Super Robot Taisen (Wars) is a mech strategy RPG from Japan. Two games in the series, Original Generation and Original Generation 2, are coming to the States in the summer.

After playing for about eight or so hours yesterday, I finally finished Suikoden V.  I must say, Konami really pulled themselves together after the flop that was Suikoden IV to produce a really good game.

The plot is a lot more political than its predecessor’s.  I don’t know about the anyone esle, but I found the bad guys not to be so bad (except for the whole attempted genocide thing… twice.)  One of the "bad guys" makes a really good point about everybody in the war being after the same thing.  I kinda liked him.

And it is of no doubt that the character designs have improved. Especially for the young ladies.

q-o: field of graphical expreiments - This is a doujin artbook made by refeia.  It contains three sections: the first featuring girls with weapons, the second featuring pictures from referia’s website rumblefish and the third featuring guest illustrations.  The art in the book is very well done.

TiTiLIAtE - This is a calendar with art by Keiichi Sumi, another really good artist.  There’s a beautiful illustration for every two months.  The calendar spans from Jan. 2006 to Dec. 2006.  Not that much to say about it.  It’s really just a basic calendar.

1年半の恋にさよなら、カニ。 - The title seems to rougly translate to Good bye in love of one half year, the crab.  Frankly, I have no idea what either of the stories are about, but that really doesn’t matter.  I bought this book for the pretty pictures and it delivered.  I’ll let you see for yourselves.  The artist of this book also did the art for the Kanon manga.

Pinsize Inc. - Unfortunately, the site is emtpy.

Dengeki G’s Magazine - G’s Magazine is about pretty girls in bishoujo games. Nothing much to say except that it came with a with a 2006 calendar (I suppose that makes three now) and a poster (not picture.)  It also happens to have an interview with Noizi Ito.

Moyori - This magazine focuses on Moe Characters.  Came with a blow-up Fate hollow atraxia wand.  It seems to have some good stuff, but I can’t read any of it.

Noizi Ito is most likely one of my favorite artists.  Her style is so smooth and cute.  She’s done the art for a couple of novel series including Shakugan no Shana and Suzumiya Haruhi, the former being compiled into an manga series and both being turned into an anime series.  She has also been involved in a couple of doujin artbooks.  I’d recommend picking up Guren somtime.

I’m just testing out this partially made blog (I haven’t finished with the colors and all that junk just yet.)  I’ll follow up shortly with a post about one of my favorite artists.
